Samuel David Greenberg, 94; beloved husband of the late Mary “Mamie” nee Adler; loving father of Merle (Marty) Wolfinsohn and the late Joel Greenberg; proud zayde of Jordana (Tom) McGee, Aaron Wolfinsohn, Sarah (Bryan) Gryka, Jennifer, Scott and Matthew Greenberg and great-grandfather of Mason, Adi and Yafa; dear brother of Jerry (Rayna) Greenberg and the late Phillip (the late Bella) Greenberg, Esther (the late Sam) Rosenwald, Beatrice (the late George) Gagerman; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Chapel service Friday, 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arliington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. Sam was a great person. Always very pleasant to talk to and make conversation with. Never complained (at least not that i heard). I used to enjoy bringing him coffee from Dunkin Donuts on Sunday morning at the SVAJ breakfast although I never really knew when he was going to be there because he was not able to drive when he moved to Park Plaza. His presence at the Shabbos morning Tradiitonal service at SVAJ has been missed for a while and will forever be missed now. His presence at the Sunday morning breakfasts will always be missed too.
